So my rear calipers were screwed so i bought some new ones from a VTR at the brakers.
To get the old calipers off, the brake line (the really stiff black lines) needing cutting.
Where can i get this as i obviously need some new ones now and wil it be shaped for my car etc...?
Also, what size nipples do the:
106GTI Rear calipers use? M7?
Saxo VTR Rear calipers use? M8?
206 GTI 266 Front calipers use? M8?
Thanks,
Andy

Agg you want the metal pipes
best thing is take the old ones off and take them to any small garage or parts shop who can make them for a few quid each
use a drift to get the remainder of the cable out

From the terminated end back in towards the car.

In pic 2 you can see that if i hit that end, its just going to get stuck due to that black metal cap looking thing.

Pic one shows my old caliper (on the left) which the nipple snapped off has a clear hole where the handbrake cable passed through and next to it (on the right) is the caliper im working on.
I have drawn red circle on this next pic to show the bit i am having trouble with.
I have labelled 1 and 2, so do i put grips onto the bit labelled 1 or the bit labelled 2?
I'm guessing from my knackered caliper (on the left) that it all has to come out and be left as a hole like that caliper is, correct?
Thanks,
Andy

With the caliper mounted on the car is easier.
You need to be at the rear of the car and it will come out towards the front.
If you get new lines you will see the ferral on the end this is what you need to be removeing.

Managed to get it out, piece of piss once it was in the vice :)
Going to be painting them, and my new front 266mm bosch 54's bright red tomorrow. Just waiting on my hoses and rear group n discs from Kam.
Everywhere i've spoke to about the brake lines is saying i have to get a flaring tool and bend it all myself.
This the way it's done then?

Yes to make the new metal pipes you will require a brake flareing tool.
Get a decent vice mounted one, mine cost me £130 5years ago.

Surely there must be cheaper ones than that?
Not really prepared to pay £130 for something i will probably use once or twice in my lifetime.

There is yes but is it worth useing cheap tools on your brakes?

But is it worth spending that much on something i am most likely to use once?
