One of my wheel bearings has gone - I sometimes get the characteristic whining noise, usually on motorways. What is the best way of finding out which one is making the noise?

It's hard to tell which one it's coming from when you are in the car, none of the wheels has play in it and just spinning the wheels when jacked up doesn't really reveal anything.

jack each wheel up in turn and spin it, you should be able to hear, and in extreme cases, feel which bearing is shot.

When the noise is happening while driving, turn right, if it stops its one of the passenger bearings as all the weight shifts to the left hand side causing the bearing to stop the noise.

This will narrow it down to two

Thanks. I will give this a go.
