Baliffs are cunts, but they're just doing their job. Giving it the large will probably just get you a kickin, arrested and have your stuff taken.
&You're 16, why is it your responsibility? You're not old enough to be in debt?

Whack the dog with the baseball bat, make it pissed off so it eats off your face. The bailiffs can't do shit if you're dead.

Gary-VTR

If you are set on avoiding them..
Make sure all windows & doors are locked; because by law they're allowed to enter through unlocked/open windows and doors.
And literally don't make a sound when they're outside.
Also sign over anything valuable to someone else. If you've got proof it doesn't belong to you, they can't touch it.

2. my dad borrowed some money which he couldnt pay back.
3. i have put all my stuff which is worth anything in my car and hidden i, so noe my rooms empty lol.
4. the dogs are in the hall to try and scare them away, the moment they open the door my dogs will just sniff them lol.
5.my mum and dad have gone out in the cars and left me home alone, so if they do get in, that will be slightly awkward
6. My house number is 6, next door is 6a and across the road is 6 too, that should amuse them for a while haha.

Easy way out: Sell house, buy smaller house, pay debt to nasty baliff. Once you get the money owed sell small house, buy bigger house, live happily ever after. This should have been done as soon as he knew the shit was hitting the fan.

Good idea taking the valubles, because more than likely your parents payed for them, hence making it their property, and allowing them to take it.
DONT! park the car around the corner, any smart bayliff will have done his research and know exactly cars are registered there, and if he see's one matching the description around the corner, its pretty damn obvious. Take it to a friend or family members who lives near-ish by. Or park it in a street a 5 min walk away (probably a bad idea with items of value inside).
If your rents are out, dont think that they wont try and make you open the door, because they will, and as soon as theres an open door they are legally allower to enter. My advice would be to close all the curtians etc. lock all the doors, and sit on your computer and keep us updated :p
Theres nothing they can do if the house is locked up.
It just a shame that your caught in the middle of a bad situation, money causes problems.

he could easily remove number plate and cover with a car cover/sheet of some sort then the baliffs are not going to see it and they are not going to go around looking under sheets on other peoples property
also did the baliffs take pictures of everything in teh house they would take ? since if there isnt any pictures or documents to say you own/have anything that they list then you could easily say you dont have it and that they are lieing since they have no proof..

Morrisons are doing buyone get 2 free on bottles of pepsi. Borrow £3k from friends & family, buy £3k worth of pepsi, sell it back to baliffs for its retail value & bingo, trippled your money.
Then buy £1k more worth of pepsi & sell that back to the family & friends you borrowed £3k from & then your square with them too & only £1k out of pocket now!
Sure you could find soem way to repeat this down to the cost of a single bottle too. Pringles are also buy one get 2 free so you dont have to keep using pepsi!

They auction things, not value them...
Your tv may of cost a grand 2 months ago, and they might only get £100 at auction for it.

You do know this doesnt work dont you?
Do you not think everyone who had a problem with the bailifs would just do it?
If you want to prove that it is someone elses, they need recipts and whatnot.
In which case you should have money for sales, that they can take off you.
If your car isnt at home, they will sit outside your house untill it is at home, and they can just plain and simple, tow it...
They dont need you to give them the keys, they will just get a wagon to pick it up, and take it. Plus parking it around the corner isnt going to work, as they will have a list of numberplates under the families name.
They can bring police around to gain entry, and anything in the house, they are not just going to take your word of "nah thats not mine, you cant take it mate" as the truth, unless you can prove its actually not yours, it will go walkies to the auction room.

Bailiffs (except bailiffs acting on behalf of the magistrate's court - see below) cannot seize the following goods:
* tools, goods, vehicles and other items of equipment necessary for use by you in your employment, business or vocation;
* clothing, bedding, furniture, household equipment and provisions as are necessary for satisfying the basic domestic needs of you and your family
Bailiffs acting on behalf of the magistrates' court cannot seize the following goods:
* clothing, beds and bedding tools of the trade

Alot of things that people said on this forum is BS.
Read it properly and when they come to the door just answer it because
Most bailiffs do not have the right to force their way into your home to seize your goods. The only exception is that bailiffs from the Collector of Taxes (Inland Revenue) can get a warrant to force entry, but this is very rare.
All other bailiffs have a right of peaceful entry only. This means that they cannot use force to enter your home, for example, by breaking a window or a door. However, they can enter your property through an open door or window (front and back) and can climb over fences and gates, but cannot break them down. See also ''If a bailiff does gain peaceful entry to my house, what will they do?''
You do not have to let a bailiff into your house. A bailiff cannot force their way past you if you answer the door. If all your doors and windows are securely closed they will not be able to gain peaceful entry to your house unless you let them in.
Bailiffs are well aware of their limited powers and may use a variety of different means to gain entry peaceably. They may attempt to walk in as soon as a door is opened. They may ask if they can use your telephone to check if an arrangement is satisfactory with their office. They may simply ask you if you would prefer to discuss matters inside. You do not have to go along with any of these methods.

a TV isnt a basic domestic need... Things like tools and whatnot are work things, so no, they will leave them.. they cant take a works van, if it is needed for you to work..
They CAN take your normal car though..

What's the one thing sure to liven up any party? How about a midget? That's not the answer that would have occurred to me, but it's the premise behind Rent A Midget, a California company that rents out midgets (or little people) to 'hang out at parties'.

Right, i'm going to sum up the thread for the lazy people who havent read it all.
I was told by my mum that bailiffs were expected back today.
Parents went out in car so they cant take it.
I hide my car at mates house with my expensive things in.
Van pulls up outside neighbors house and start filling with belongings.

I think bailiffs went to wrong house as we have the same house number.
Owner of house comes home and goes inside, while van is still outside.
That's where we are guys, no updates yet, will tell when i find out what the van was doing.

'' Listen to this one then; you open a company called the Arse Tickler's Faggot Fan Club. You take an advert in the back page of some gay mag, advertising the latest in arse-intruding dildos, sell it a bit with, er... I dunno, "does what no other dildo can do until now", latest and greatest in sexual technology. Guaranteed results or money back, all that bollocks. These dills cost twenty-five each; a snip for all the pleasure they are going to give the recipients. They send a cheque to the company name, nothing offensive, er, Bobbie's Bits or something, for twenty-five. You put these in the bank for two weeks and let them clear. Now this is the clever bit. Then you send back the cheques for twenty-five pounds from the real company name, Arse Tickler's Faggot Fan Club, saying sorry, we couldn't get the supply from America, they have sold out. Now you see how many of the people cash those cheques; not a single soul, because who wants his bank manager to know he tickles arses when he is not paying in cheques! ''

Don't expect them to go away unless ...
Your dad declares himself bankrupt
he pays back the debt
Time to man up ?
Paul

Your dad should just down grade the cars, the tv's and other stuff.
Once out of debt and back earning money buy them back.
Scattle
1st December 2009, 18:34
they came on friday and looked all round the house and listed everything down, he had until monday to pay it but had no money to pay it :(
If they've came round and listed everything down and levied on said items, if you hide/get rid of the items, you could get into more shit.
We have this at work a lot of the time, normally every visit from a Bailiff will incur £25ish costs and if they come with a Van £100ish.
I think they can only force entry with Police present and a Warrant.

couple of tips about bayliffs . they cant forcably enter your property BUT if you open the door they are legally allowed to gain entry with or without your permission.
if they visit and no one is in and they go and then come back...
if the door is open windows open ect they can legally enter your property before knocking ringing ect.
bailifs aint bad people open the door they will give you several warnings to pay up.
usually they will arrange a weekly or monthly payment amount with the credit agency.
if this isnt fufilled they call again with the same treat.
3rd time and thats it there in and will take anything of value "ONLY OWED BY THE PEOPLE WHOS NAME ARE ON THE FINANCE AGREEMENT" and can only take property if there are recpties(sp) to prove that they can legally take the property owned by the signes of the fiance agreement..
ive had first hand experience with this regarding my brother with 2 unpaid mobile phone contracts and they came and took his tv computer ect. but nothing else in the house as it didnt belong to him..

ok so,say if when i took out finance my 2nd name was Jones, and since taking it out i have changed my name to Thomas....technically the finance is not in my name?

Funny (and unfortunate) as shit if he is telling the truth...
But a photograph of a van isn't really considered evidence.
I could look out the window... notice a van by the neighbours house... take a photo... then make up a story about something and post the picture later too....
His house has memories... yet it burnt down with him and his family in it.
His road has two houses numbered 6 on it (although a shoddy picture attempted to explain this
a van comes and starts taking stuff FROM the house... although its a DELIVERY from ebay
hmmm......

lets say the road my house is on is called A
The road next to it is called B
# = road
1 = my house

A

######################B

My house is on road B
There house is road A but facing road B
they knocked down a section of there wall so they could enter there drive from road B
They happen to have the same house number as us (6) this confuses people and they get addresses mixed up.
