Hi All,
Got one for you here.
Sometimes when starting my girlfriends car the idle is really high (2000 to 2500 rpm). Stopping and starting the engine does not normally have an effect on this.
I thought it could be cold start (but still rather high) however it does it when warm too.
The car is a 2000 model 1.4 litre petrol Saxo.
Also on a side note, how do you adjust the clock on the dial display?

like above could be ICV or a few other sensors, type in Idle or idle problems in the search bar, you'll get your answer there.
The clock, iirc you need to switch the ignition on 2 turns, then you hold in the right button thing until the time ( hour ) starts flashing, you then click the same button until the correct hour, for the minutes, continue from the hours, once selected leave a few seconds until the minutes start flashing, then put the correct time, and leave it :)

Most likely the ICV [ Idle Control Valve ] mate.. You could take it off and give it a clean with carb cleaner and give the throttle body a clean out.
Thats what was happeing with mine. rough idling. This sorted it out though

Hi All,
Thanks for the suggestions. I will check out the idle control valve at the weekend and give it a clean.
I'll let you know how I get on :-)
Cheers,
Ian
