with the GMC springs you will sit higher than the faulkners

theyre both a 250mm length though

and only work well if running B8's really

And the GMC aren't 160lb anyway..

The GMC springs won't lower anywhere near 40mm. The Faulkners do give near enough a 40mm drop though.

how low we talking?

GMC aren't 160lb, nobody has measured them. GMC said to me 180lb, they feel a lot softer though. They are also longer, 260mm+

Faulkners 45mm springs would be much better. Preferably some 165/240s like the ones i spec

In the region of 30mm IIRC - Steve may have some pics of how his sat with them on.

The gmc's I've got are definately 250mm free length. Poundage seems to be unknown - 160to170lb?

Ash doesn't Ian have the gmc 50mm springs...

My car sat around std height on gmc 40s, and they were gmc 40s because i ordered and fitted them...

my faulkner 240mm free lengths were are lot shorter than my GMCs.
Will measure the GMCs when i get in tonight.

My faulkners sat higher than my GMCs but the faulkners were 200lb.

I dnt think they would but maybe gmc supply different '40mm' springs as they get new batches made up?

I'll get a quick pic of how mines currently sitting

that doesn't look too bad lol is there much weight difference between the 16v and 8v

raunchz
2nd December 2009, 10:13
I can imagine the weight difference is marginal?

Same gearbox in essence
Pretty much same block
Just a difference in head - SOHC vs DOHC ? Both alloy?

to get -50mm they will realistically be softer than 155/160lb
I think the springs they sell now are either harder than 160lb or the spring length is more. 5lb is nothing.
Why has no-one asked GMC? Seems everyone guesses though they are all but a telephone/email away. We are quite happy to publish the details about ours, I can't see why GMC would have a problem with revealing the specs of theirs if asked. Its useful information for a lot of customers....
