no sound/no amp

really stuck on my sound system here,so any help would be good.

i fitted my jvc headunit yesterday it works fine,and connected up my door speakers.they work fine.

now i come to my sub and amp.

i have 2 kenwood 10inch subs.
a jbl gto amp.
a autoleads wiring kit.

i connected it all up,wires to headunit batteries etc,but i get nothing.the green led do sent even come on,on the amp.

I'm pretty stumped.i try ed earthing it on the boot lock and the rear seat bolt.still nothing.

with the remote wire i spliced the blue/white wire on my headunit and wrapped the remote wire from my amp around this,then heatsrink over it.

its a brand new headunit,wiring kit.and the subs and amp were tested before fitted to the car and they were fine.

so I'm abit stumped.and wouldn't mine getting it sorted tomorrow.

not sure what else to try as its all connected up and cant see why its not working.

any ideas please?

I have a similar problem but i actually do get a light.. its a RED ONE! lol. but i know why that is.. its coz im an idiot and did not see i have to have the one speaker on the left side neg and pos. durrr. pmsl. Anyway, make sure the power cable is connected to the positive side of the battery and the earth is connected as well as the remote lead from the head unit.. that was the one the stumped me as i had a fork on the end of my remote wire from the amp, but i wrapped it round the small remote wire.

ok mate yh there all conected up that i can see.im not sure what else to try.ill go check the fuses agen today and see if any of them blown.

try bridging the + and remote on the amp... if that works, then there is no power going through the Remote cable... could be for a number of reasons...
main one being, there could be a switch on the head unit which needs turning on, before it wil allow power to amp.

get a multi meter and check your + and - and see if you are getting voltage through to it, and do the same on the remore and - ...

thanks mate.so just run a peice of wire from the 12v+ to the romote port on my amp?

its a brand new headunit so could be somthing needs switching on.ill try it now.

yeah just a piece of wire, when i got my US- DE3000 amp, it needed a "jump start" so i bridged the + and Rmt! it worked... then when i put the remote cable back on, worked fine.

you may find it will work fine after wards, OR it will only work if you bridge it.
if thats the case, then its the Head unit, not sending power down the remote cable... you can, leave that wire from the + on there, but you will need to put it on a switch as it will have a constant drain on the battery...

do i neeed to unplug the romote cable before i bridge it?

i just tryed it with the cable pluged in and nothing.

dont think i would be the headunit as its brand new.and the first time i used it was yestrday.

just checked the fuses and the one in my amp is broke i think.

the metal bit inside is snaped in half,i take it that means its blown?

its a 25a one so ill go grab anuther one now and try it.

could this be my problum why its not working?
would the question then be,why is it blown.

thanks for the help mate.its all fixed now,was just a fuse gone on the amp.so fitted a new one and it works grate.
