well as it stands i verry rarley use my car to go anywhere else other than work the odd trip to pick my brother up from the pub and thats about it,

i curently own a ford focus as said in my sig pay around 2800 quid for the policy ofc it costs a bomb.

id like a VTR tho and well cant afford the insurance to have my own policy on, im not fussed about no claims because in a few months il be leaving the UK to move to france, so is it worth me being the main driver ?

or should i just get on a policy with quinn quoted 1600 on a VTR mk1 no mods as a named driver thats with my dad as the MAIN driver.

is this a good idea or really a bad idea ? seen as the car at weekends is parked up on the drive i walk mostly costs me less in petrol and everything is within walking distance . . .

dont do you as the named driver, whatever people say it CAN be proven you have drove.. there are cameras everywhere on the road. If you crash and they found out you were doing the main driving you would get it hard with no Vaseline mate..proper.

ok i didnt know you could do this but on go compare you can choose the main driver, so i put the me the named driver as the main driver but NOT the policy holder same price on quote but means im the driver i asume ?

seems to good to be true is there a hic ?

policy holder is stated as my dad, also as owner of car and legal owner

if your time of commute was out of peak times, like me, i drive at 6 in the morning at leave from work at 3:30 so i miss peak traffic, if you are a one off case let the insurers know, either way.. don't front the insurance. It really really isn't worth it mate.

If it is going to be you as the main driver then i'd advise you to ring... don't want them smelling a rat already

i used to do it with my 306, stupidly put the policy so that my mum was the main driver and i'd be a named driver. If i ever needed to alter the insurance then id ring up and theyd be like this isn't your policy sir

basically, youve been clocked mate haha

the important thing to rember with insurance is that, even if you make false claims they are still liable under law to insure u when they first have a crash (provided they only find out after the accident) however this will result in insurance being withdrawn and refuse and u will indeed get it hard with no vasiline! and find in hard to get insurance in the future

rang quinn up, they stated that both drivers would have same priveleges as each other and it did not matter who used the car the most . .. far as im concernd its sorted then . . .
