XR2s are quite smart aye, can't say i've ever been in one though. There's also the age thing.

Not too keen on fords to be honest apart from the escort cosworth smileys/smiley17.gif

My mate has had 3 fords since he passed 2 fiestas and an escort and all 3 kept fucking up on him, week in week out always a problem, goes in garage to get something sorted and somthing else fucks up on him,

Hes looking around for another car now and yet hes still not giving up on the fords

So my opinion i would well stay away

My other half had one and it was a cracking little car! She still talks about getting another one - or the RST.

The Xr2i's are relatively cheap now - just try and find a good one. They rust alot, ours was in pretty good nick and we sold that on ebay for 700.

Pay around 1500 and get a real minter with fsh if you could find one. Also try and get a standard one that hasn't been played with (even harder to find!)

They mainly rust around the fuel cap (a common problem on many old Fords).

I think for a standard car they look smart - we lowered ours by 40mm and fitted the RST 14" wheels. Looked the nuts - shame the exhaust hit on every speed bump though - but that's Ford for you. My Escort RST did that too and that was standard height!

Good luck with your search should you decide to go for it.
