has he got multiple id's as its very similar to the saxovt1/blueocean scammers style? scamming scum want locking up, i'm on several forums, not just for cars, and i've never had any bother till the past few weeks.

Because you've sent cash i dont thing you have a chance of getting it back, although you have all his bank details do something with that like see if you can go shopping with it or just sell his numbers to someone.lol

Sax-p convoy to his house :D

On a serious note, you have to take a risk when buying off people on forums, best to avoid it where you can. Personally i dont buy or sell to people with less than 5 100% iTrader.

Did he ask you to pay via western union first?

Alarm bells shoudl have been rining when he asked you to place cash in his bank. It could have been anyones.

Lesson learned.

People need to report this to police and mods/admin so that there accounts can be blocked. Happens way to often now. As a club what can be done to stop this happening. Simo changed the rules so that they needed 50 or 100 posts before they can post in the for sales section, so now you see people spaming gen chat just to get enough posts. The more the rules change the more people find ways round them. Some thing needs to happen, but what can be done.

If youve got his bank details the police may be able to gather his name and address. Or maybe not due to data protection?

Worth ringing the police to find out though

A verification system could be put in place. Meaning you had to request a sellers account. Which a verification code is then posted to an address. Or Sax-P could charge for example £0.01 from someones bank account, which would verify the name and address etc as it would have to match the details on their bank account.

I dont know how hard this would be to impliment.

Just an Idea

If the police can't help do something about it yourself.

Use your imagination, you have his bank details and you know he banks at the Halifax.

If it was me I'd seek out someone who could give me his address....

I doubt youll be able to get him done, because youve sent him cash through a random forum striaght to his bank. He could easily just say that you were sending him money as a friend or summit, There is no proof and i doubt you will get anywhere, sorry

Not gonna happen....data protection act :y:

If people would only have a bit of common sense when it comes to purchasing there wouldnt be a problem.

I always make sure i give / recieve it as should everyone wether it be negative or positive. It's a good way to establish wether people are trustworthy so that you can sell or buy from them :)

Solution is easy just don't buy off someone as a paypal gift or bank transfer unless they are a reputable seller. Use paypal but be prepared to pay their small fee and you have protection.
