View Full Version : Do you clean your car in winter?
Dazed

Just spent past few hours cleaning my car and I cant help thinking it's a waste of time, after I get back from college tomorrow it will look just as dirty as before yet I still spend a few hours every weekend cleaning it.
Do you bother cleaning your car in winter or do you just let it get filthy and then give it a good clean come spring?
I hate winter. :wall:

Yes
Especially arches with all the salt on roads, needs to be done aswell as a good wax before the serious weather kicks in

About once a fortnight to remove the build up of shizzle that builds up everywhere. I'd say it's more important to clean the car in winter than summer tbh. Mud + salt + moisture = bad times.

Covered mine in polish 2 weeks ago, and am refusing to wash her again for another 2 weeks, mainly to proove to 'rents and neighbor that I can go a month without washing my car :P

I was always told not to put pressure washers onto the tyres as it takes some sort of protection off them?

I find it's hard to bring myself to do it as well when it's cold and wet and gets dark so early. I live on a farm so it gets really muddy, I should probably invest in mud flaps tbh.

Before I passed my test I used to clean it all the time.
Now I just dont bother. Cleaned the megane once in 4 months.
Going to start cleaning it more often though, when the weathers nice again that is, as it polishes up quite nice.
Over winter Ill just wait until it rains then just wipe the dirt away with a towel lol

Clean mine at least once a week. White and Winter = Nightmare. Couldn't drive it round really dirty though, gotta have a clean car even if it's dirty again by the time I reach the end of my road!
