weird idle

now and again the saxo will have a really lumpy idle then the revs drop to 500 and cuts out, cuts out whilst driving aswel, anybody know what this could be? cheers

thought that is there any guides on how to change this? searched but couldnt find anything. is it expensive to buy a new one? any help will be greatx cheers:y:
