depends if you are used to taking dashs out really on how hard a job you find it, compared to some (P38 range rover for one) i find them a doddle but theres quite a few fixings that are hard to find the first time you do one.

oh really :O do i have to take off the steering wheel for dash to come out ? how many bolts hold the dash in ?

pretty sure steering wheel has to come off, i'll ask my son when he gets in ,he takes most of the saxo dashes out for me. know there are bolts accessed through the scuttle panel that have to come out, then a couple either side in the footwell area and more in the centre below the heater control panel, visible when centre console is out

i'd take it off anyway, gives more room. know that the column can just be dropped down to clear the dash.

what happends to the air bag in steering wheel :S:S and in the dash passenger side ahhh seems bit hard, but reckon the garage would charge a fortune .. so guna have to try myself :( bit of a dumb question but how does the steering wheel achually come off lol ? i took the one of my nova but that was only a bolt and was easy to get to.. didnt have a airbag lol

yeh wheel need to come off - need to get the dash off somehow, it doesnt fit round the wheel

Garage would charge a fair bit I'd think tbh !!

Just disconnect the battery before playing with airbags

Dash out is pretty straight forward really once you find all the bolts.

Have done 4 in the last month or so, hadn't done any before that ;)

no bolts in the heater vents, they can stay in the dash apart from the middle one in the centre fascia. steering wheel is held on by a torx bolt(T50 i believe), airbag is held onto wheel by 2 torx bolts accessed through the back of the wheel. just be careful when unplugging the airbag (connector is delicate) and when threading the wiring for it back through the wheel, try not to be heavy handed as the rotary coupling for the airbag is also delicate and easily buggered.

stick some K-seal in, i did this with my vtr and it never leaked again lol. when it first leaked it pumped all the engine water into the passenger footwell, i drove around for 3 hours and just thought it was rain coming in and it didnt even heat up!! it was like a swimming pool.

5 bolts to get dash out iirc

2 on the outside under the scuttle panel

1 on either side of the footwells, near the dash, best way to describe were they are is to look at bonnet pull on passenger side, thats your bolt, same on other side

and one that fixes the bracket/bar to the gearbox/exhaust tunnel
