Exeter city council are robbing cheating bastards!
went out for my birthday on sat and got a £100 parking ticket !
when I parked up I read the sign it said in big writing with a yellow background parking permit holders only 8am till 6.30 pm after 6.30 pm free Parked up at 7.30!
went in had Chinese all you can eat !! came out about 8.45 had a ticket 5 cars parked there 3 more also had ticket !
went up and looked at the sign again under the parking permit bit it said non permit holders pay and display after 6.30pm !
the way it was written was like it was free after 6.30 nothing short of decetfull cheating on the councils behalf,
It was written in such a way that it was deliberately done to catch you out! it did me and the others !
it is the first ticket I have had any one else been done?

Firstly, does it say a PARKING FINE or a PARKING CHARGE, it makes alot of difference, Lidl car park give me a PARKING CHARGE, but I didn't pay it, and its not legally binding by the government or whatever, was some advice off a nice lady at the Citizens Advice place..
And secondly, Should have gone to specsavers. :y:

Refuse it, they have to prove who the driver was. As all parking tickets are fined against the driver and not the car.

a.) I doubt it was deliberatly written to catch you.
b.) If you read the sign properly you wouldn't of got fined, which you've obviously read properly now you've got a ticket.
c.) Pay up, shut up, they didnt ruin your birthday, you did by parking up and not paying

Surely everyone would get away with it if this was true?

if it's not in a council car park or issued by the council/local authorities then you don't have to pay it i don't think.
failing that, skip the country and live life as a fugitive in the Algarve
