something i thought of a while back atm i do not plan to do it and tbh i doubt i will
but say i took my posi blue saxo
and resprayed it maritius blue (completely and i mean every last part bare shell respray)
i dont need to tell the dvla as its still blue
or insureance as its a standard saxo colour and all they will have on records is blue no specifice of posi maritius ect
thats right ent it?
just came up in conversation again and i thought id ask to try and get a definate answer
for all i can see i think im right

im no expert, far from it, but i would say your right tbh...
One thing which gets me is, if you get a vynal wrap in a diff colour, do you have to tell them? as TECHNICALLY you have not changed the colour of the vehicle, just applied colourd vynal

To be honest, I think it probably best to at least tell them, because if they find out you had it re-sprayed it will cause all sorts of problems...insurers are c*nts, I deal with em everyday lol.
They may be able to find out which blue it is (which I doubt they will even question) and it can be classed as a modification from the manufacturers standard.
Shouldnt really say this but....its not something they will check up on if you ever had a claim or anything like that if im honest mate and to be fair....it would be easy to get away with.
As for Vinyls, although they make no difference to anything what so ever, technically it is classed as a modification...and technically it should be told to your insurer.

Surley if it just says blue on the documents and you buy a car thats a different shade of blue but unoticable you couldnt get done i dont think. Tbh i dont think the insurers would mind unless you claimed for paint flaking off or something.

i have no idea what colour blue my car is
how would i know if it has been fully resprayed in the past
blue is blue, its not like you carry a paint code book with examples with you when you buy a car

only thing would be if you crashed and the insurance put the car to get fixed at their garage. they would look at the paint code and paint the new panels the original blue. that would be the only way I can see them finding out

tbh what is tellin them gonna hurt, wont affect the price, plus iots peace at mind if you do have a crash, cos they pick silly things to try and get out of payin.

however if its been done bare shell the code will have been painted over
so they cant use it unless they are on a database with citroens original manufacturer details on it
