Hey just a few questions about subs:y:
I was wondering what sub i should get - i mainly listen to bassline or dubstep although i do listen to rap, a bit of rock etc. I would want my sub to shake my car, literally :p.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend any, i'd get my amp based on the wattage and RMS of my sub so im just wondering about a subwoofer, i have about £200 to spend, Aslong as they are of high quality :D, can anyone recommend any for around this?
So far i have found the Alpine Type-R 12in Subwoofers which are 1500 maximum watts and 500rms, but also i have found a cheaper option with a built in amp (which i heard will never be quite as good as a seperate sub and amp?)
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_72 3259_langId_-1_categoryId_165748
# 900 watts max power
# 300 watts RMS
Can anyone recommend any others i would be interested in or which are better for cheaper?
Cheers lads,
Hobo

Have a read through this mate + Use the Search function and you should find out some decent subs.

Also, check this website out for cheap subs. I got mine from their for less than half the price of halfords, and it was delivered the next day.

EDIT: The website store has been closed, but their now on ebay. They have the same EDGE sub for £50 delivered, which is £40 less than halfords!

I had an alpine type r same spec as you quoted and took i tout coz i couldnt afford all the sound deadning i needed to stop all the rattles it was causing. Great sub would reccommend one any day. Also jbl are good for a budget sub.

i know someone who is selling an orion HCCA 12.2 in a 4.3 cuft ported box, tuned to 32Hz...£200 for sub and box! . . . fucking steal tbh! will kick the cunt of any other 12" you throw in its way tbh!
Note : you will need to run atleast 1.2K RMS @1Ohm through it!

I picked up a 12" Type R (newer style) in a prefab box with an Alpine MRP-M850 monoblock (800w RMS @ 2 Ohms) for £100. Beat that for a deal ;)
On a serious note, those Type R's are the nuts. If you need deadening, PM me, i know someone with some proper solid stuff (twice the thickness of dynacrap, more effective and cheaper :)) that could hook you up :)

yes dude! if you get it, thats a bargain! the only thing is they are around 2k rms! its ok to under power them at 1.2-1.5k! i wouldnt run less! id get it scoped to make sure no less than 1.2k is hitting it at any time! but remeber there is so so SO much more to give them!
141dB is respectable score, but dont forget, it depends on loading, position, size of the car and such! but it would always be around that area!
