Looking at getting a lower strut brace. just curious, has any one else got one on a saxo lowered 60 or more or am i just going to have big problems with it hitting everything. ?

60 will be very tight, but some speedbumps will be different to others.

I'm in the same boat as you with my GTI being 60mm lowered, but wanting a strut brace.

Don't want to fork out if it's going to be wasted.

a saxo shouldnt be lowered 60 IMO unless its for a track.

but a strut brace is like £30 so not much to lose anyway

What about a 106? Mine looks good that low :D Handles like it's on rails too :D

But you say it's just £30. It could end up being my front suspension and underside of my car too if it catches lol.

The sparco one gives a little more clearance than the omp one if that helps.

Why shouldnt it be lowered 60mm if its not going on track :S best for handling was about 40mm i thought?

stupidest comment ever for highs and handeling

60 is too low to handle well
35 is more like it
look at 90% of the actual cars tha get used on track on here
ryans

all are about 30-40mm down at the max

I had one on mine and Im down 40mm, I took it of cause it was a nightmare it kept catching on everything.

They are easy to get on and off so I just put mine on for the track.

10th December 2009, 14:04
basically if your down 60mm you have already ruined the handling dont waste your money on strut braces.

samueljonburgess
10th December 2009, 14:05
mines dropped 40mm and it still caught alot.... 60mm you will be screwed

im 35mm and now and again i catch on various things, depends how hard im driving on what sort of road.

70mph on the m25 there are a few bumps which ive hit and nearly been sent into the barrier

samueljonburgess
10th December 2009, 14:16

What is the difference in handling from 35/40mm to 60mm?

60mm i found understeered loads!
35mm the car just feels more balanced, turns in better in my experience

Yeah the OMP one, i've seen those, i like how they up the price by £25 because it's anthracite...

I've seen someone with a "Caged" on in black? Do they make them or is it just some sticker on one the cunt has painted himself?

Pauly i paid about £35 for mine new when they were on special offer!

Why not just buy a red one and paint it yourself? :D

It's "you're" you retard, can you go and be bored in another thread plaese? You're of no use to this what so ever you little e-tinker.

Aye, you can get them most places in red for £30 now, i suppose it's the only option, i'd have to get it shot blasted though. They use a sort of self curing paint on them though so it's like a rubber compound, it's a nightmare to sand.

I remember some lad on the RR used to actually make a pretty good one, i just can't remember who now...

Just reading your blog Alex ;)

Yeah, members only, although it seems they don't list the grey one on 106 parts any more, where the discount code took the price down... Just PM Yates and tell him he's taking the piss with the price and that you want it for £42 lol
