They rust!
Bad
due to poor rust proofing from the factory.
Handle like a go kart and performance parts are cheap and plentiful.
If its had a front end crash make sure it hasnt damagd the gearbox as they are prone to it.
Changing the box is a rite pain as its attachd to the bottom of the engine!

Minis are like go karts. They are soo responsive. You feel every bump in the road as they are on rubber cones not springs. Imo they are great fun to drive but terrible to work on as all the sizes are imperial ect. Lots of things go wrong with them but when they work fine it's great fun.
I used to have a jet black 1987 park lane with a union Jack on the roof

Very wrong.
100bhp is achievable and is a lot for a mini engine, but with the car being so small and light it means it's very quick :)

my A-series midget is at around 90bhp atm, and it could easily go to 110-115 just need to drop a 1380cc bottom end on it now. then it will be done :) in 690kg pocket rocket.
its got more Bhp/tonne than a Saxo VTS. don't underestimate colin chapman's principals.

One of the main things you can easily tell if it’s a Cooper is the fact it has 2 fuel Flaps, one on each side at the rear

You can do away with the subframe & bolt some buckets to the floor ;)
Ive got buckets on custom frames & theres plenty room too, just the standards that are quite high!

Height isn't really the issue ;)

Lol. My mates got a 1380 supercharged white clubman. That goes like fook but because he's only got poxy 10 inch wheels it's hard to get the power down. He's now putting a 180 bhp vtech in from an integra. And he's upgrading to 13 inch wheels too. I've been in the supercharged version and drove it. It's fookin fast. I can't imagine the vtech.
The 1380 ran about 11 seconds at Santa pod.

also they turn heads :)
