My dipstick snapped, I researched on here to find out that it's a common fault.. I was told by people on here to get a vts one as they are metal. I've got one and it won't go in properly.. It seems to be about an inch too long. Anyone else had this problem?

will it not just push further in as all of them get stuck about 1 inch off the end and my mk1 flat arch has a metal one ... :S

Seeing as your dipstick measures your oil level I wouldn't fit one from another model.
Go to Citroen with your chassis number, buy the right one - it'll save you potential problems in the future

My original mk2 vtr had the plastic bit on the end of my dipstick. The end gets a bit brittle over time and mine snapped the same as yours.
I replaced mine with a 106 gti full metal dipstick, is exactly the same length as my original one.

i should imagine that any 8v tu3 dipstick will fit so just go scrappy and get a few.
