will i need to unlock the ecu?

has the tittle says guys im doin a swap from vtr to vts on my car and the ecu i got its locked so it wont let em start the engine because its missin the imobaliser box coz dumb me forgot bout that! soo i bought a new 1 with key, ignition barrel, ecu, imobaliser box and pick up ring! would it work or would i need to get it unlocked do you think? i
