Hi all,

Im really considering getting a remap for my golf GT TDI PD130 from revotechnik, has anyone been in one remapped? i thought about it a few months ago but now looking at it again as revo have a special deal on..

Just trying to decide whether or not i should go for it... i hope it would make a big difference..

Yeh you will a remap will give you a lot more torque in a diesel.

My dad's had his PD150 Leon mapped, and it's definately a lot quicker. Although it's starting to get the dreaded clutch slip under load in 3rd.

Fuel economy is very similar to before.

get it done at More - Bhp.

i cant recommend them enough, with just a remap, panel filter and 2.25 inch down pipe i got 400 nm of torque out of my pd 115

I had my 206 hdi done by Angel Tuning - 90bhp up to about 125bhp - made a massive difference!! Also gave 2-3mpg more. Budget for a clutch though, you will kill it very quickly ...

a mate of mine had his audi a3 1.9tdi (the same engine as glof i think)done at revo technik. it made a huge difference. also you can go and get a free trial, which resets its self after 5 hours so you can try before you buy which is pretty cool.

Don't they do a trial remaps or is that a different company?

Basically they put the map on the ECU so you know how it feels like and after 48 hours it goes back to normal factory settings.

Diesel Remaps rock!

I had one done on mine back in April of this year and the difference is really noticable. Mine was 110bhp and 180lbs/ft but now it's 140bhp with 240lbs/ft (or it should be, it's on the RR day tomorrow). Fitted a panel filter and using vPower diesel - defo more torque and the pulling power is awesome.

I was thinking getting a diesel Golf and getting it remapped too. Do you have to declare it to your insurers?

Technically you should. But if you didn't, it would be tricky for them to pick up in the event of a claim since everything appears to be the same.

Many people I know with mapped/chipped ECU's don't declare it, and none have had any issues with insurance as far as I'm aware.

Mine isn't declared, but like Jazz said - you should.

Very hard to check a piece of software that's hard written.
