Proxy Server etc

How do these work? How can you change them so you can view iPlayer in a different country etc?

I did know but i have forgotton.

I think it changes your IP and other details to the proxy server's, thus letting you do things un-detected. May be wrong though.

Just tried it but they always say i need to enable javascript, when it already is..
