View Full Version : Engine Mount/Exhaust Rattling

My exhaust was blowing recently and i paid to get it sorted, A day later the whole car now shakes on idle. Apperntly its the engine mount, But i found werid its only happened since my blowing thing has been sorted.

Is there anyway i can check the engine mount? And how easy are they to change? And is this the liking cause? Or is it the actual clip underneath the car as thats been f*cked since day one.

You will soon know if your engine mount is knackered. You can get hold of the engine and ans shake from side to side and back to front with very little effort..

If its rocking on idle then the mounting must be really fucked, if you try and pull off you'll more than likely be able to feel it through the stick.

Cant feel anything changing gear, While im driving its alright.

When my car is idling and i rev it for instant then the noise would go away.

Is there anyway i can visually check the mount?

Well you can see thm, but normally you cant tell by looking, just give it a good shake left to right front to back, what kind of noise is it making? It shouldnt really be making any noise. You'll feel the play most when you pull away hard in 1st and 2nd most. IT'll feel like the stick is being pulled i a direction.

Just the car is shaking sometimes on idle.

The noise is my exhaust clip under the car shaking =\...

And do i shake the engine or the mount mate?

if your engine mount is gone your car will shake like f'k hah.

Mine doesnt shake like mad.

Sometime it doesn't even shake =\

really need ideas lol!

I personally thought it was the exhaust.
