My mate last month got done for Drink Driving and was in court on Friday, the thing is he was done for Drink Driving on a push bike.

Well we all thought that the police where taking piss and he would be let straight off for it, well that never happened and he got a 12month ban for drink driving.

-illegal to ride bike drunk
-he gets caught and banned
-if he gets stopped again on a bike, they ask for his details, find out he's banned and probably just extend the ban - same thing they do when you get caught driving on a ban

you can get arrested for opening your car whilst drunk.

even if you are only collecting something from it.

before anybody says im lieing a guy i know has been arrested for this.

he had been done for drink driving before yes. he was having a party at his house went out to get a couple of CD's from his car open's the PASSANGER door and place keys on seat he also doesnt have shoes on at this time but a police officer walks up and arrests him for attem,tping to make off in his car.

he got let off in court because luckily for him he had a camara on his car and could prove he wasnt intending to drive as he still had his legs hanging out of the car.

yups road traffic act includes anything and everything wether its motorised or not.
a push bike can still do alot of damage to a pedestrian/car.
people assume because its only 'leg' powered its safe.

When i used to go biking a mate got took to court for undue care and attention doing a wheelie on the main road!

im assuming nobody would complain if a drunk cyclist crashed into either you, your car, family etc.

Ive heard of this before, if you dont have a drivers license they fine you, if you do hold a license they take it off ya :P

so in theory you cant even push your bike home pissed because your in control of a vehicle? and they could say you attempted to get on your bike to ride it.

here's the thing my dads mate plays alot of gigs. *pub band*

he done his gig. got tanked up. got into his car put the heater on and fell to sleep.
he was woken up 20 mins later and was arrested for attempting to drive while under the influence. poor bloke only wanted to be warm. got a 12 month ban.

you can sleep in your car but cannot have the keys on you as it is seen as an attempt to drive while pissed.......

my mate got pulled over by a panda car for speeding on his push bike apparently doing 27 i think it was with the limit being like 25
