Problems restarting car after engine has been running...

My Saxo VTR starts within seconds when it has been left over night, if you turn it off and try and start it again sometimes itll take ages of turning over to get it to start, its a good minute or so, it then picks up on one, two then chuggs its way back into life! anyone else had this trouble? if so any suggestions?

I had a similar sounding problem, and it was the immobilizer or key fob security thing that was doing it. If you have 2 keys, try using the spare for a few days and see if it makes any difference.

When you turn on the ignition can you hear it prime? Also could be an intermitant spark plug fault.
