up untill now i have had no problems with fitting car electronics's, i've fitted a few sub and amp setups for my self and mates and loads of head units and never had a problem,
however i have just bought a new saxo, and fitted my head unit, amp and sub, all was working ok apart from a bad earth which i fixed, now the problem i have is really annoying,
when i switch on the ignition my head unit doesnt come on automatically....?? and when i switch it on using the button on the head unit it doesnt remember any of the settings, its like it looses its memory when i switch off the ignition...?
can anyone help?
cheers

Make sure you disconnect the battery.. I know you may say, yeah obviously.. or - No i wont bother...
I had this problem and popped a fuse when changing them over.. just thought id mention it as it was a pain in the arse trying to fix one thing and causing ten other weird problems LOL.

you do not need to disconect the battery, as you are swopping over the red and yellow wires of the headunit not on the loom theirfore just unplug the 2 iso connectors connecting that wiring to the car..
should already have bullet connectors on the loom (or you may need to cut if its a cheap lidl unit)
basically at the moment your ignition and perm live wires are the wrong way round so when the ignition is on the unit gets power, when you remove it the ignition supply is removed and the unit becomes powerless...
