Because despite the name "global WARMING" it doesnt really mean that.
The summers get hotter and the winters get colder, and other weired weather patterns begin aswell as sea levels rising etc

Exactly. It doesn't mean the planet will just get hotter and hotter.

Global warming is a load of shite! Just another way for the government to rake in money.
I do accept that we are effecting the planets climate with all these green house gases but its no where near as bad as they say it is!
O year and it is freeeeeeaaaaaazzzzzzzzziiinnng outside lol.

Global Warming happens naturally, it's why there has been 2 previous Ice Ages, it's a period that the world goes through. It's not as entirely man-made as the media like to make out.
And the problem with melting Ice caps isn't rising sea levels, it's fresh water mixing on a large scale with salt water.

Your thick as fuck if you think because its -2, theres no global warming..
Little lesson coming up..
Global warming is destroying our atmosphere...
Our atmosphere defends us from UV rays, and ALSO insulates the planet.
OZONE gets thinner.. Less insulation
Less insulation = colder winters
Also means more UV gets through, so the sun may seem warmer, and do more damage.
By no means am i saying global warming is bad... but because it has warming in the name, it doesnt just man the planet is going to be warm all the time.
It was 6 inches of snow in a day in november last year... iv not even had to de-ice my windscreen this winter yet.
So its clearly not all that bad.

Technically it's called 'Climate Change' because some areas will get hotter and some will generally get cooler - some places will get flooded to shit and others will be drier than a nuns fanny. Personally, I don't have a PhD in Environmental Climate Studies nor am I researcher in it, therefore I couldn't hope to make to well educated opinion on it - neither can you lot or Jeremy fucking Clarkson. It doesn't matter whether we're contributing to Climate Change or not, it does matter however that we're gobbling fossil fuels which theoretically are responsible for Climate Change at a crazy rate and need to wean ourselves off them regardless of the effect on the planet.
If you don't believe in Climate Change then please state why... find some bollocks off the internet if you can't form your own reasoning apart from 'itz bullshit.' which scientifically counters what most research papers are suggesting and then I'll take some interest.
ciao.

what about a theory of the planet going through its own cycles, there was a ice age ya know!
i seem to hear people going on about wether being hotter then it is now in the 60's etc and people talking about winter being -5 and 5 foot of snow etc etc etc

Got frozen out out of my car when I finished work at 6am last week! would have thought a Volvo, which is made in Sweden, would be ok in the cold!
I agree that climate change is happening and going to have massive effects on our planet but I dont think government policies like taxing higher powered cars is going to save mr polar bear. also why is gordan brown considering giving something like a billion £ to help 3rd world counties fight climate change when our economy is still fucked, and will remain fucked untill the forseeable future?

again that's why 'global warming' isn't really the correct term for our concerns - 'Climate Change' is more correct as said above.
what with the planet going through natural cycles isn't a theory, that's fact man... but those cycles don't just occur randomly, these has to be triggers that cause these periods which as several millennia long and these are unlikely to just appear through solar effects alone... CO2, NOx and sulphur levels by nature go up and down which all have some effect on the total heat energy retained and lost for the planet - in a very very very basic approximation, more plants than animals... less CO2, more cooling (through increase photosynthesis)... more animals than plants, more heating - although that's a mega basic. Volcano's kick out Mega Tonnes of Co2 all the time - perhaps the biggest CO2 'polluter' than anything else (I'll have to look at the actual figures on that one though but it wouldn't surprise me), so solely blaming climate change on our own doings is a bit of a fallacy. However volcanoes also kick out shit loads of sulphur which studies indicate oxides of that element reflect solar energy - so I suppose you can say their output is balanced (but again I'd actually have to check the figures). Again I'm no expert so I can't make a definite opinion but I'd rather see things being changed and then find we were wrong than keep going the way we are and destroy ourselves when out finite resources get munched up.

Fuck me i aint been this cold for so long!!!!
Come back from spain on a 6 hour delayed flight at 4am this morning and OMFG :panic: its proper cold!!
I dont get how they can blame it ALL on global warming.
What about the Ice Age and Stone Age etc, the cave men wernt driving around in 8litre Cars and Range Rover Vogues. With 100watt lightbulbs in their caves. Wernt Global Wamring back then.

yups,pro climate change then haha.
getting back to what ya saying.....how can we (or the scientist/expert) fully calcualte what the answer is.
I mean put simply,to solve a problem, you first need to know what the problem is.
The media, people in the know etc seem to be blaming humans for this change, through i guess main use of fosil fuels.
well if that is the answer to stop this climate change problem, then the answer will be to stop using fossil fuel and find alteernate energy forms,BUT,what if alternate energy forms with almost 0 greenhouse hasses doesnt improve the situation were in?
It to me looks like as soon as we find the answere to alternate, genuine fuels to fossil fuel, then well be living in a perfect climate.....i doubt we will.
I think were a contributer to the changing wether we have, but i think theres a wider picture to it.

Notice how the government has jumped on the global warming bandwagon... crap economic situation, 'green' taxes... all adds up ;)
They love to tax the motorist, cos people will always use cars so there's always an 'income'.
Oil companies are no better... when VAT went down to 15%, there was no noticable change in the price per litre at the time... atleast where I live anyway.

Name a green tax the goverment have introduced?i havent seen any yet!
Motorists are an easy target, and apart from petrol iv seen no other tax increases.
The oil companies produce, refine and sell the oil.they have no influence on tax.thats a goverment thing.oil has fallen in price, but it takes so long to see that,if ever mainly because of vat.fuel prices are varying so much day by day.
