quick question, before i resort to the only cleaning chemical left in the house
would bleach damage car paintwork?

J222JRA
16th December 2009, 09:24
Why would you want to put bleach anywhere near a cars paintwork?????????

Im not sure if it could damage the paintwork....but it will without a doubt strip any protection it has so would be open to the elements.

doomie22
16th December 2009, 09:24
because its bleach, or just hot water

Elliott
16th December 2009, 09:24

got it rather clean before though
got chewing gum off the bump strips, and mcdonalds sauce off the paint

Jorge-
16th December 2009, 09:31
Why you have chewing on the doors and sauce on the outside I won't ask.

Seems like you have been chavving it up.

Its like 90p for some cheapo Tesco wash and wax, if you hate your car that much might as well use some of that instead of bleech.

Claireeyy
16th December 2009, 09:32
what's this bleach on your car ? :panic::panic::panic:

NO NO NO NO ffs bleach only goes down the toilet :homme:

Even then, have you not seen the adverts, bleach only masks the germs! You need toilet duck to clean. Lolz

doomie22

try running a car, let alone cleaning it on 0 income, and having to scrounge what you have around the house to clean it, hense usually only hot water

Jorge-
16th December 2009, 09:36
People like that confuse me, if you have to scrounge together to pay 90p for some cleaning products, why are you running a car full stop? What if it breaks down tomorrow..

doomie22
16th December 2009, 09:37
if it breaks down tomorow, i cash in the tax, declare it sorn, and use my grans car, simple

Claireeyy

Get a job. Lol. Well it doesn't cost much to get some wash and wax shampoo from Halfrauds or at this time of year ask Santa for some cleaning products :y:

doomie22
16th December 2009, 09:46
you think i'm not trying to get a job? since i was forced out of my last one, not my choise

AshC
16th December 2009, 09:47
or just dont clean it rather than using bleach?

doomie22
16th December 2009, 09:49
so let it get dirty?
wouldnt that effect the paintwork to some severe detrimental circumstances

pr0xibus
16th December 2009, 09:49
tbh i think Mr muscle would do a better job lol

doomie22
16th December 2009, 09:52
done have any of that in the cupboard, its domestos, or its window cleaner for the whole car

doomie22
16th December 2009, 09:52
or i do have head n sholders lol

J222JRA
16th December 2009, 09:53
Before you added the Bleach it would have had some form of protection but now you have stripped all that away and left the paintwork un-protected.

If i was in your situation (please Jesus dont let it happen) i would look at getting a little sample sachet of a wax and wax shampoo.....they are very cheap and that way atleast the paint will have some protection.

Good luck looking for a job.

Get some suds from Tesco's for £1 or what ever

Then give you car a coat of this: http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=112

100% detergent proof

Then you can use bleach to your hearts content.

P90PTS
16th December 2009, 10:45
You can afford to run a 1.4 sri but not pay 90p for some wash and wax?

Hmmm i'd be looking at the short term i.e having some wonga rather than having a fast-ish car.
