I've got a website that i have published for a mate, now when i enter the URL it re-directs me to the hosting site, any ideas why or ways to overcome this?

When did you order the domain? Might it not be activated yet? Has payment not gone through yet?

have you set up the hosting so it points the domain name to the hosted files buddy

Nameservers/DNS will need changing, or domain not fully activated.

The domain was bought well over a year ago.

TBH this is the first time i've published a website so a major n00b!

Has the domain expired?

If not, you'll need to set the nameservers. You do this by going to the domain registrar and logging into your account. Nameservers are normally NS1.Hostname.com and NS2.Hostname.com

Made sure it directs to bla.com/index.htm rather than just bla.com

Thats it working now, i called the domain and they sorted the DNS
