Earlier this year the engine warning light came on in my Saxo. It was still driving fine but I got a mate to check it out. He plugged in the little computer thing and there was two errors, one was a lambda sensor and the other was gearbox oil temperature gauge or something?

Got a new lambda sensor and he just reset the other error code as he said it's nothing to worry about, but he said it may cause the light to come back on soon. Now a few weeks ago the light did come back on but I've had absolutely no trouble driving the car around town so I just assumed it was the gearbox thing again.

Tomorrow I wanted to drive to Looe which is 152 miles away, it's pretty much all motorway, would you think the car would be ok? Or would you not bother just in case it is something serious?

I would, but I would stick to a steady 60mph or something tbh.

I agree with this, if all looks ok then go for it. Have you got breakdown cover or somone that could come and get you?

as said check all oil and coolant levels before you leave if all is fine just keep an eye on the temp gauge and stop if you smell anything hot or burning

get your mate to come round and check for the error codes, if it is the same just check everythin is alright as Bic said and if it is then it should be ok. however if the error code is different then depending on what the code is for will decide if its safe to do the journey. :)
