thats a lot of money, and you can get a lot of car with that much money too if you get something a couple of years old.
nobody can really advise you though, if you like it and want it, get it!

Well with a new car you get so many years servicing free, and a warranty for parts.
Also no MOT for 3 years, which i think is completely daft!
Go for it mate, give me a shot when you get it :y:
Mr_X
28th December 2009, 18:27

just buying a car so you can keep up with the jones' not for you, imo age doesnt matter its the car, also for not much more then that i got a z4m a while ago that was only a couple of years old.

Just remember insurance group 16 is as high as i can afford to go so if you have any other suggestions subarus and evos are out the question.
Chico999
28th December 2009, 18:36
But if you got a nice older (52 plate) M3 you could maybe pay off insurance for a year, and be one of the most reliable cars you could buy.
I'd never spend that much on a vauxhall

my mum got a brand new vauxhall in 08, its shit. has been in the garage to get fixed numerous times. another family member has a citroen picasso, that hasn't needed to go back once.
new doesn't mean reliability, they constantly have sensor problems and other silly issues that an older more simple car just wouldn't suffer with.

I can almost agree on this the pick up on the Car is very nice and smooth but if u think about it most new Cars have that feeling anyway for A while as I was saying before ever since my mate bought his one its gone back many times and his having to drive there Courtesy Car more but if I was ever to buy A Vxr would have to be the Arctic as that looks awesome and sounds very nice A lot better than the standard Vxr model!

Not a Corsa Fan to be honest But i'll keep my opinions to myself :)
Bare in mind what you WANT from a new car? Yea the VXR is fast, but is that all your after? Look at the long term, could you live with this car, afford it in the long run.

I like the Corsa VXR & was considering getting one for a few months...
I read up on it, watched numerous review clips & liked most of what i seen
Til I Watched this clip that is... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjL_AyuhJnc)
Now I'm researching the 197 F1 R27 & have binned the idea of the VXR.
In the end I just thought I'm not going from a small engined car with great handling to a small engined car with lots of body roll round corners.

Are you implying that I am THE STIG and that I live on a race track?
If so then you have mistaken me for someone else.
I like my car to comfortably go round corners without rolling from side to side, I like to to feel planted onto the ground surface weather it's on a local road driving Missy Daisy or giving it some beans on a track.
In anyones book bodyroll is bad!......
Regarding looks, I honestly don't know which is nicer so I'd be happy with either one.

It just so happens though that get very similar MPG figures, they're the same tax banding but the Clio is only a group 15 car.
Thats why I prefer the 197 (http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Detail.aspx?deriv=37493) over the VXR (http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Detail.aspx?deriv=37031) -each to their own tho

erm considered a ep3 civic type r?
i was in a similair situation, im 20 and i settled for a ep3... loved it (insurance is abit pricey but paid it off in one lump sum) and its by far the best motor iv had so far and to drive aswell
iv also owned a fiesta ST - theyre a big no go esp if you already have a 172 cup
to be fair in this kind of situation best thing to do is wait but i couldnt and went got myself a ep3 lol

Not worth that kind of money mate!
I'd be for buying an older one for much cheaper
It's only a 1.6T at the end of the day
It maybe only a 1.6T, but it kicks out 190bhp as standard and the Astra and Vectra VXR all retail at around 30k with 300bhp+ as standard.
So yes worth 15k if you want the VXR feel
i wouldnt tbh, about as quick and looks a hole load chavy er . just my viewand your saying 190bhp is not quick lol

No i want a new car for reliability i want to not have to worrie about stuff going wrong all the time etc i just like the VXR corsa
corsa vxr's arnt really that reliable, also vauxhalls dont hold value very well im sure you could get one for 10K on decent miles pretty easy
Just remember insurance group 16 is as high as i can afford to go so if you have any other suggestions subarus and evos are out the question.
if you save 5K on the car im sure you can afford to go up a few groups, also you must make a shit load of money to afford and run both a 172 and a vts at 19, if you already have 2 small quick cars why not buy something alot more grown up.... get a 330d or a nice audi.

corsa vxr's arnt really that reliable, also vauxhalls dont hold value very well im sure you could get one for 10K on decent miles pretty easy
if you save 5K on the car im sure you can afford to go up a few groups, also you must make a shit load of money to afford and run both a 172 and a vts at 19, if you already have 2 small quick cars why not buy something alot more grown up.... get a 330d or a nice audi. Are you joking with regards to Vauxhall not holding value, I'm lucky if I can pick up a 1.6 Astra CDI for less than 1k on a S/T plate and yet I can pick up any other car on the same plate for a lot less.

Can't stand em personally, looks like it was designed with 16 year old chavs in mind.
I'm sure they're capable cars but for me the 197 looks ten times better and handles better too.

thats crazy money for a corsa, look beyond those types of cars for that kind of budget. think about evos / scoobys or even the astra VXR, its just too much money.

i wouldnt mind a corsa vxr. would defo buy 1 about a year old tho as theyre like isnurance group 13 brand new or something daft like that.
what insurance group are they anyway at a year old?? was planning on getting 1 when i hit a years no claims :D
group 16 insurance, the sri turbo is group 13. theres a guy on cduk with a black 07 plate for sale with something like 14k miles for sale for just over 10 grand. did have 4 pots but think there maybe off now

I wouldn't mind a corsa vxr, especially the new polar edition :y: though, would you spend 17k+ for one? think of what else you could buy for that kind of money!

i looked at the corsa and astra vxr but alot of money and the quality isnt that great! wanted to stay with a hatch so went for a Golf R32, for 16-7k you could get a lovely mk5 R32!
lol deffinatly do that mate fuck paying for a corsa vxr they look ugly doubt they sell that good of a price tbh because not many people want them really as for an r32 gold 4 wheel drive good branded name so well built and being a golf will deffinatly hold value plus there alot nicer and dont look like some chavs idea!!!

tbh mate its all down to your own choice really but that is a alot of money..i mean for the same amount you could get yourself an 04-06 plate Focus ST for that, even newer! Top spec and there are quite a few minters about.
Superb cars, trounce the corsa vxr imo. More practical too.
