...Because i was on crack.
If i had the oppotunity to go back in time i would have bought a 3-door 1.5D and began on a modding adventure.
Still, at least the lack of anything decent for 5-door saxo means i can save a bit of cash.

My dads cousin dabbles in the car sales, he had this sitting on his drive & offered it to my dad for dirt cheap money.
I told my dad to get it as it was a bargain.
The biggest mistake was keeping it, i could have spent about £50 at the scrappers & made an easy £500 on it.

well bit of a long story but here goes,
I Was originaly looking for a 3 series beemer but couldn't find one i liked.
I saw the saxo on the net whilst i was searching, went to view it and loved the shape, colour and the interior.
It drove well and had plenty of torque smileys/smiley17.gif
I did then Consider getting a VTS after test driving the vtr but the insurance quote was a lot more.
I Went back to the seller and managed to knock him down from £3200 to £2900 for cash.
I had to wait till the monday to get the cash out of the bank but when i rang him to arrange a time he'd gone away for the week smileys/smiley7.gif
Pissed off i said i was still interested in the car but only for £2700!, i lied and told him i'd seen another i really liked for £2750. He reluctantly agreed much to my amazement.
The seller was actually about 55, he had bought it as he liked the look but decided to get rid after only 3 months cus he wanted a cheap run around for work (he's a mechanic)
Amazingly when i went to pick up the car i got my mrs to drive me in my old beat up escort that i was gonna scrap after the mot ran out (in about a month).
The seller then told me he was after an escort & offered me £200!
So i ended up paying £2500 plus my old banger.
Not bad i thought for a mint x reg vtr with full service history.
