Fifa 10....Trouble

Right.
Got my PS3 for Christmas (mainly for Blu-Ray) but it came with 3 games. I went to play fifa today and it reads the disc and then as soon as i click on it to play it makes a noise...HDMI comes up on my TV then the screen goes blank....all i can do then is turn off the system.
Any ideas??

Is the resolution of the game set to higher then the TV can display, i had this problem and changing to the correct resolution fixed it.
