my power steering pump has stopped working and i have sourced another but its off a diesel or i have one off of a 1.1, i have a vts, they are the same type of pump with a seperate bottle but are they a straight swap?

Yep, theyre all the same mate as long as theyre of the same design (the only other variety is one with a separate fluid reservoir fitted to very early Saxos/106s.

do i just need the pump or do i need to remove everything ie pump, pipes, resevoir etc

Just the pump fit new one on the old bracket plug it in fill up with fluid and jobs a good un

Aye, when its all back in and filled up, leaver the cap off and move the steering wheel lock to lock 50 times when the engines running to bleed it.

any ideas as to where the fuse is located for the pump? The vts has 3 fuse boxes ?d the two in the engine bay are ok and i doubt that the passenger footwell fuse box will house the fuse for the steering pump, does it have its own inline fuse somewhere?
