Hi all
Have done a search and read the comments but not really clear on what to do....
I have a smell of oil intermitently in the car, there are no visible oil leaks and i keep reading about a breather off the cam cover,what do i need to do clean it or change it,or is this even my problem???
Its a 2001 vts,the problem happened again tonight, I sat on the motorway at 85-90 for about 10 mins- no smell atall,when leaving the motorway and slowing down the smell is there,the oil temp reads ok, I just happened to pull the dipstick and can see what looks like steam but guess its hot or burning oil.
Hope I've explained ok,please help!!!

Un clip the hose and take it of clean out with injection cleaner or wd40 bud..................:y::p

Thanks mate, on mine it has a pipercross filter on.
I have just taken this photo of it, will it be the short pipe to the filter???

OK so I,ve just had the pipe off and its clear so wondering if its the crank case breather, could some please show where it is on above pics and what I need to do to check it.

Might be worth getting under and seeing whether it's leaking onto the manifold/ exhaust somewhere? Is it using any oil?

A little bit of oil burning off when you lift the dipstick or remove oil cap (when engine is warm) is normal mate.
