View Full Version : Can you clean Coil Pack?

Still having trouble starting my 1.1 saxo particularily when its cold .AA man said Coil pack may be to blame; can you take it off the car and clean/dry it out ?? Please help!

Yeah i think you can, i know how to on a 1.4 engine but not a 1.1, give me a min and i will look in my Saxo haynes manual
Edit, if you don't know where it is, it runs parellell behind the Rocker cover, theres a few retaining clips and plugs to undo, then you can see the spark plugs, then just undo any bolts securing the Coil pack, and i would either say clean with, Carb cleaner, or go halfords and see if they have Coil pack cleaner.

They break down internally so other than cleaning the surface which won`t do anything tbh I`d get a new 1 or get a mate to swap over coil packs & see if it fixes the problem.

once they are gone they are gone. they cant be repaired :( its only about 40 quid tops for a new one, will save a lot of mucking about too :)
