I thought it was any exposed Blue light on the outside of the car
Because its reserved for emergency services

Orange is for highway/carriageway working
and sometimes you see a light green for a Vet :D

DONT DO IT YOU MUPPET!

yea you would man
immitating a police vehicle is taken very seriously
its why only us or classic vehicles are allowed to for show purposes as for all they know you could use the lights to pull someone and car jack them ect

what? why

AlexB

the very reason here you can drive to a police station and query wether its a police vehicle

Might be sumone like you imitating an unmarked car but with the intention of car jacking. So you dont have to stop for them ;). Just dont drive like a WRC driver when you relase its unmarked and u dont have to stop :y:

wow wait...you serious?
So they can just keep following you with lights until you decide to stop?

It would depend on exactly what they charge you for but the standard for impersonating a police office would be a £5000 fine and 6 months imprisonment. This would be if you actually used them and thats on or off road and some one could interpret them as a actual police vehicle. As I said this is not limited to the road so would include car parks and so forth.

Edit: Also forgot to add there is a separate offence for the flashing lights them self and another for the showing a red light on other then the rear of you vehicle that they could prosecute you for at the same as the above if you used them on the public road or any road with public access. These days public access such a privet bridges open to the public and privet car parks are for the most part classed as public roads when it comes to driving standards.

I think your meant to wait untill you get to a public place like a service station, but i still dont see how this can cover you from a car jacker.

The woman that made this ruling more public was being followed by one and she phoned the police and asked if the reg was from their area and in that place, turns out it was a car jacker! Good job she phoned to make sure, police surrounded the car n nicked them!

I cant see how you can check with police if theyre real on your mobile phone though, if it turns out they are legit feds then youve just got yaself another fne and points for being on the phones.
