I used to have a c2 by loeb and it was poo vtr's used to keep up no bother and only had a top end of like 126. I bought it brand new and was alway at the garage for "software upgrades etc..." and engine managment issues , in the end only had it 5 months they said it need a new injection ecu and i got rid of it for a clio sport nice car buy the way very fast with few mods, now ive gone back to the dark side and bought a saxo vts and its much better than the c2 i should have got one of these in the first place it says that the saxo only got a top end of 127 had mine to bought 135 though , i also had a vectra gsi msd the 2.5 one, thought that a vts would have no chance against it and it could barley keep up with my mate vts.

wat are your views.

He's simply saying he's had his new VTS to 135mph and that a Veccy 2.5 GSi can't keep up with it.

i think the c2 you owned was just shit, and this thread is pointless.

Cal
6th January 2010, 17:04
Can't really slate the lad tbh, there's threads on here all the time about what Saxo's will keep up with, what's faster etc, oh yeah... private roads, my bad lol.

OR c2,s are shit full stop

TU-Tuning
6th January 2010, 17:06
C2s are quicker than they feel, but Citroen flopped with the engine. Whilst the competition were all adding boost they just improved the engine from their last cars. Not much they could do though as they'd already put all their money into the Prince engine range theyve designed with BMW. The engine is much better suited to the lighter Saxo

westie-rossi

c2s arent shit though ive got a vtr an its sound better than my 2 saxos ive had in the past.

TU-Tuning
6th January 2010, 17:07
Theyre not shit, but not great either. Like I said in another thread earlier, theyre too heavy and well built to be as fun as a Saxo/106, and lack the power and 400cc/boost to keep up with the Clio/Civic/Corsa ect crowd

the VTS are not as fast as the saxo VTS, not much quicker than a saxo vtr either but will always have the upper hand on the straights.

n1ckx81

Yeah the brakes are immense, even though theyre not that different from saxos which I dont really get, must be something to do with the MC or servo.

They do handle well too, much easier to drive fast than a Saxo as they have ESP which keeps the nose in check. The Saxo will be quicker if driven properly though

n1ckx81
6th January 2010, 17:59
was the saxo that was 135 the c2 vts was almost hitting the limiter at 124

problem was u could never turn the esp of fully would always come back on if you went over 18 mph

yeh but 135 on the speedo wont be 135, more like 120-125

yeh but 135 on the speedo wont be 135, more like 120-125

how so please explain

carter
6th January 2010, 18:19
how so please explain

because the speedo will be quite abit out at that speed, if you did it again with a GPS and see what the difference is.

in my work van (transit) when the speedo says in doing 90mph the sat nav says 73mph!

in my car (golf R32) with the same sat nav when the speedo says im doing 90 the sat nav says 85/86

Its weird, both my Saxo on 306 are well off key at low speeds, when they say 40 its about 34-35. At high speeds on my private runway theyre only 2-3 mph out.

My head hurts :( please use some good English!

So the point of this thread is.... To tell us C2's are shit because they're not good for raggin?

Bugger it! not going to buy one now :(

He's simply saying he's had his new VTS to 135mph and that a Veccy 2.5 GSi can't keep up with it.

thats crap, the vectra gsi 2.5 is 192bhp and is rapid, not round corners but just as fast as a saxo vts in a straight line, especially top end. v6 grunt will thrash a saxo vts above 90 jellybeans.
2.5 V6 GSi
7.6 s
148 mph
192 bhp

Yeah, had a top speed of 127 in its hayday, but probably lost a few horses since then matey, and as said, speedo's are generous.

n1ckx81
6th January 2010, 19:35
the gsi kept up but hardly for what it was got to 110 and still didnt gain on it but the saxo has a 4-2-1 manifold plus decat and bmc induction kit
