currently I work in a call centre for an "infamous" bank in the customer service / loans department. Now as with all jobs get the usual daily complaints and people being ignorant/stupid/generally dumb also there is alot change coming in (ie more ways to screw you out of bonus). The department I am in is seeing if it can split the skill levels to service only and sales only, put my name forward for service only as its less pressure then but don't know if that will go ahead.

I applied for a different role within same bank in branch support which is simply take calls from customers ringing from branch and doing lead generation no compliance, no targets but still get some complaints. Money is the same for the new role, now thing is I get on with everyone in my current position hit my targets and dont have any hassle from the higher ups generally things are ok to a point bar the what seems like constant complaints.

Dunno what to do really as new role I wont have the hassle of selling anything or worrying about have I read this or that but then again where I am now nothing is majorly bad just loads of confidence denting incidents :S So would you stay or would you go?

Go for whatever role will have security, a secure income, a secure future etc.

With this new job role, unless i've misread, your bonus and salary wont be effected by other factors.
If you get on with the people you work with now, it will only work in your favour as you move to another section. If anything it shows your easy to get on with and that your a social person.
You may beat some @$$holes in the new department but unfortunately you will get this regardless of where you go.

MOST importantly ... Will you be happy and enjoy yourself.
Nothing worse that doing a job that you hate. Unable to think of nothing but having to go back the next day to "that" role you hate doing.

Hope this helps (Advise from a 19 year old :panic: WTF )

On a semi serious note, if you aren't happy in your job and can find something you feel you may enjoy more, leave and go do that

tbh mate if your getting on well in your current position is the new one really a step up ? complaints arent that hard to deal with tbh. i have to listen to raging customers most days atm due to not being able to get out to the houses, who woulda thought snow could affect our engineers.

but in-bound calls only is sweet.

working at a call centre ftw.
