As i was saying early i didnt think the c2 has the same appeal as the saxo or speed what you think new cars are getting to complicated .

Saxo/106 was the last mechanicle car. Everything after them wernt as mechanicle and easy for us to work on and tweak.

saxo vts was at the top of the hot hatches when released, the c2 was only a mild hatch.

New cars are going to suck balls. Porsche for example are making a 3 or 4 cylinder Boxster. Aston Martin are making this;

Yes that is a Toyota IQ and it is actually a fully endorsed 100% official AM model. The EU are forcing manufacturers to make cars like this, as they need to reduce emissions across their range. The one good thing is that it saves the decent models, but for how long it will work weve yet to see.

All to save the planet! Will it make a difference? Nope. Will the big manufacturers make more sales using this with clever marketing? Its fooking pathetic.

Generally 95% of cars will be 3 or 4 pot units with turbos. Therell no doubt be some interesting cars and the suspension and chassis developments are awesome, but whats the point if everything ends up looking the same due to safety regulations, all having the same engines, all being massively heavy, all having the same suspension technology?

Totally agree mate !!

Will strengthen the market in old-school cars though so could be worthy investments to be made !!

Pricelss!

I can't speak from first hand experience, but my friends think the interior in the C2 is crap.

I used to drive a C3 for afew months, and that was horrible and everything was cheap flimsy plastic.

I dont understand the rear quarter window in the C2, the bottom being at an unusual angle. It doesnt look bad when the car is in black, but I just think it looks out of place. If they'd kept it level with the bottom of the front windows, it would'nt look so bad in my opinion.

But never driven one so I can't really comment I guess :p

old cars are better.. hot hatches were more raw and all about the feel it was always down to the driver on how the car reacted.. but nowadays, the new hot hatches are weighed down by comfort and air bags.. then theres things like traction control, stability control and all that bollocks.. things aint the same.. and as regards to better emissions and all that, global warmings a load of shit that no one can stop.. its gonna happen either way, we can help it one bit

never driven a c2 but been in my mates and it felt the ride height was too high to be a proper hot hatch. although that was a normal c2, c2 vts may have been lower?

The first car I learnt to drive in was a C2. I liked the interior personally. Digital speedo etc was quite nice.

I drive my gfs C2 reguarly and hate it, but it is only the 1.1 sometimes i feel like i could get out and run faster. It's smooth to drive I guess, but not fun at all

C2 is properly naff, I drove a C2 Loeb (VTS with decals) wasn't impressed at all.

You don't really drive it yourself it does it for you, the steering was naff didn't have a clue what was going on.

The clutch had no feeling to it and engaged fully too high up the stroke (cant think of a word) of the pedal.

Interior was wank, and I wasn't keen on the suspension set up tbh.

Same problems that i feel when driving the 1.1 :(

cheap new cars a crap, the same way that cheap old cars are crap. the higher end of the new car market is much better than the likes of the saxo.
ive got a new corsa as a hire car at the moment and love it! so much so that im buying a corsa c because i cant go back to the rubbish build quality of the saxo for a daily runner (i didnt say i wont be buying another saxo though...)

c2 was developed to be the new sax in terms of being aimed at young drivers on the modified scene, imo it was an utter fail, and i hate them and there shit!!

Best hot hatches made were the MK1 GTI,R5 GTT,1.9 205 GTI,EF9 SiR and non of the modern hatches will ever be as raw and unpolished as these due to Health and Safety and therefore will not be as fun.

i hate all new cars these days. all starting to look the same. its like the newer the car the more vertically stretched the headlights are :S most way up the bonnet/wing like that cack AM thing up there ^

makes me sick when people spend like 10k+ on a 59 plate corsa/c3/fiesta etc. imo no uniqueness and style. cant exactly modify new car to make it look individual these days can you tbh
