hi there, newby to this site but must say top class for help!
anyway my 01' vts will start fine, when heated it will start stuttering, almost cuts out and then revs its self back to normal, sometimes fully cutting out, will repeat every fifteen minutes or so...
also if in traffic and it starts stuttering and i dont let it rev its self (cause of cars beepin me to move) it will start acting up,very jumpy and revs can start literally bouncing from 800-2000 up and down for quite a while, this has only happened a couple of times though(the bouncing).
i cleaned icv, throttle bodies and all that area, was bit smoother after that but still stuttering and revs,im thinking lambda sensor,or temp sensor, car has de cat if this helps, dont know if they fooked the sensor up when doin it!
would really appretiate any help on these matters,as this is very annoyin!!!
cheers!!!

In my case it was MAP sensor,I had similar problem with revs. When I was put the gas it has tendency to cut out till 2000 rpm and bouncing revs on idle, after that it was OK.Try to disconnect it during "bouncing revs" if it gets better,it could be a MAP.You can do the same test with water temp sensor.

MAP si on the left side of the air intake collector(box with 16V),water temp sensor is on the right side of the engine block it has blue connector with 2 cables,itīs on the back of thermostat housing(under itīs another blue one,but with one cable only, thatīs oil temp sensor),u need to take out airbox and u will see it... finges crossing ;)

I know, nearly as bad as, how can i make my VTR faster, already got a 9" back box and ripspeed induction lol.

But its more than likely a sensor, id suggest (as already has been) Map sensor or coolant sensor
