like the gent on the former question mine is about the same, the question is the following,i'm looking into fitting 16" and getting the girl 4/5 cm lower to the pavement.now with my prev car lowered 6 cm on 16" there was no speedbump i could get over how will this be with the Saxo on the above setup ??..it already cost me a fortune since i broke my manifold once getting stuck on one off these bloody things.this made my alfa dealer very happy by the way..Also another question is the following i,ve still got the OZ F1 racing rims from my other car but my mate is willing to buy them of me but since i do not have the car yet i would like to know if they will fit under the Sax,since my mate is starting to moan like my mother in law (twat),and your answer is well appreciated on this question.

also as per prev email i understood that there is some work to be done to the arches of the car but how "minor " is this my minor things always turn into major projects you see..and can this be done after fitting the rims?.also will the rubber thinking off 195.40. not hit the inside when the car hits a bump.?

well hopefully you can help a new Saxo fan out.

Reg,

Niels.

Were your old wheels fitted on a Saxo/106 before. If not you might want to sell them to your mate as they might not be the correct fitment.

Lowering about 50mm on 16" alloys I think you have cut the rear bumper bracket and move the PAS pipe or it might split giving you a hefty bill to pay.

But it shouldn't be too much of a problem as there are some mad people now putting 18" and 19" alloys on there Saxo's.

Until you lower it, you won't get any rubbing in the rear arches and only very minor rubbing on full lock at the front with 195-45R16's on a 7" wide rim o/s 15mm.

Looking at mine, there's a shit load of room in the rears with regard to the bumper brackets, and you mite only have to lightly trim them at a 40-50mm drop, unless you regularly carry a full car.

Once lowered the wheels actually sit further back in the arch so it will be close to the bracket plus you will have lost the tension on the torsion bar so you will get more travel and probably rub on it. Cut the bracket just in front of the metal clip and see how it is, if not you can cut more away but then you need to drill new holes to bolt the bracket to the wing!
