I've literally just got over this.

My brother took nearly two weeks with penicillin to recover, I avoided the penicillin and it took around 5 days for my throat to be better. Still coughing a little, but dry throat now.

Just take penicillin if you need to, lots and LOTS of strepsils!

When i was in hospital after having an operation to remove a chunk of my throat, they advised ice cream (like i said) and coca cola. I guess soups would be ok too.

I had it 4 times last year buddy and tbh only one thing gave me any relief.....Strefen...its a much more powerful version of a strepsil......can get them from a chemist etc etc without prescription.
