For some reason my mam is trying to force me 2 have her 1.2 sxi twinport 55 plate corsa I will probably get it cheaply.

Question is should I keep it or sell it and get a mint VTR?

Considering you're on a saxo owners forum, what do you think people are gonna suggest?
Obviously take the corsa!:geek:

corsa c are nice mate unless your going to be rallying it around backroads and racing the local mcdonalds crew the handling and speed of the corsa should be fine for normal driving imo and they are pretty comfy and plenty of room inside

Ye the handling is wack blud :s was on my moms insurance for a bit wasn't overly keen

well it all comes down to what you want out of the car

the corsa is comfy, newer, lower milage and more reliable and since its been in the family you know how its been driven and cared for etc so no nasty surprises when buying and will have a better resale value later on

saxo is faster with better handling its cheaper so bit of extra cash in teh short term but thats about all i can think of

(looks excluded since that boils down to personal tastes)

saxolenny
7th January 2010, 23:46

Why are you comparing a 1.2 to a 1.6 in terms of performance and handling?

The 1.2 was not made to be fast or handle like its on rails but it is build good and looks alright.

I would get the Corsa then if you want more performance do a small block engine conversion (X18XE1 or Z18XE).

corsa. It will be cheaper to run and insure. Its a first car so get some experience as cheaply as you can then upgrade at a later date.

Corsa... and don't touch it. Why spunk your money away?

Plenty of time for 'performance' cars when your insurance is reasonable. Drive something sensible until you can afford something better than a Saxo imho.

^ Agree

Keep the corsa for a while then chop it for a VT* when you've gained a few years NCB
