horrible night!!

after checking the car 3 times today to see would it start i decided to venture out to see the mrs.

icey roads and snow eveywhere,so we decide to head to the cinema!!
that doesn happen.
i get about half way there and i notice the dash lights start to dim.
i know whats coming,like here we go again!
turn the headlights down to dipped,h.u off and heater off too:n:

i tried to get to the turn on the road to get back home and the car dies!!

alternater again!!!
like wtf!!

so ive to ring my dad to let him know.
straight away he gives me a bollocking about why i should have stayed home!:wall:
very helpful!!!
then i ring the mrs to tell her i wont be down!
that doesn go down well either!!

i then ask her does he father have a socket set and she doesn know what it is

eventually my father arrives and its all re wired up and ready to go!!

oh and its minus 8 this whole time too!!.

i think a fuse may have blown also??
the dash lights come on but the rev counter etc isnt moving??
ill check the fuses tomo.

i had this when me alernator belt snapped on me old peugeot lol. Pain in the arse.

the lights dimmed just as the car died!
as in the batt was dead.

i wired it back up myself and its fine now bar the blown fuse i presume

The speedo isn't working because of the battery.

Disconnect the battery for half an hour or so, re-connect it. Bobs your uncle.

im also confused, youve obvs drained the battery as of the dimming and the speedo not working... so what has your dad rewired? thats suddenly made it work again but not fixed it?
