It can be right. Just shop around for a few days constantly.

That sounds right, if your mum owned the car, and was main driver, and you were named, it would probably drop to £1500 - £1200 ;).

Try the insurance section though buddy.

depends what area you live.. putting a parent as a named driver doesn't make it cheaper all the time.. if they were the main driver then maybe so.

i payed £1900 to insure an 02 plate 1.1i Desire :( with 0 NCB
getting a new car in a month or so, a 1.4 twinport corsa C and the insurance with 0 NCB is £1500... getting a 1.9tdi Golf in June and the insurance on that with a 1 years NCB is a mere £1043.63 :)

shop around

Technically they can't prove that though.

actually they can.
they look on the net, forums etc and also ask neighbours etc.

Also you wont be building your no claims up,which means in the long run your insurance will be more by not building them up.

Yeah, I've always thought though, what if your mum/dad drives it to and from work 5 days a week, and you drive it twice a week at weekends, but they only look out the window when you drive it, and forums and the internet aren't factual proof, tbh, I think they can't prove it, I'd never accept it.

Agree on the no claims, but it lowers with age, and I'd rather pay half the price & let it go down with age and driving years experience than pay full price tbh.

If you get pulled and your a nominated driver on a car and the police have suspecion that the cars being fronted, they can contact the insurer, monitor the use of the car etc.the insurance if have any doubt, will do anything to not pay out for an accident!

insurance will hardly go down because a nominated driver is getting older, that person should hardly use the car, therefore it wont make one ounce of a difference.

at the end of the day its fraud......people get frauded on here in the for sale section and people moan like fuck,so why is it acceptable to do it to an insurance broker?

theres no point lying about it now a days, the insurance companies have caught onto it.

i paid 1975 for my 1.2 dynamique clio 51 plate, then i wrote that off, paid 1963 for a 54 plate 1.2 dynamiqe clio again, then for my modified mk1 vtr with eveyrthing declared i was paying 935 and now onto my mk2, only just turned 19(4 days ago), and paying 898 for my mk2 vtr lowered, exhaust, wheels, induction, and they want 34 quid more if i were to cam and remap it.

Al im going to say is it pays to spend hours searching the net, and you will find a good deal, but try companies directly it makes a massive difference, and put your mum and dad on the policy as it will help to lower it.

try bell, admiral or elephant (all part of the same company) if you want to end up modding it.
