Okay, I cant get my head around what I should do, so I come to you lot for some advice

The car I currently drive is registered in my Mums name, she is the policy holder for the insurance, I am the named driver on the policy, simples?

Recently I have been driving the car more than my Mum has, and I want the car, simples?

This is where I get confused, I want the car to be in my name, fine by my Mum obviously and I want the insurance policy under my name. What do I do first? Do I declare the vehicle in my name, then change the policy? If it makes life more easier, the current insurance expires in 2 weeks. We are currently with elephant and will want to stay with them as I have had my cheapest quote through them. Will it be best to do it before the policy ends or after?

Hopefully someone knows the easiest way, its been driving me mad :boxing:

Can be done the same day
you buy the car and insure it same day
send the change of owner supplement to the dvla the day you want to swap it over and all will fine
