The one thing the US have right is the right to defend your self and your property. Rather then the UK where you have the right to be robbed, attacked or murdered and you can't do anything about it with out getting done by the Police your self.

If you're on about Tony Martin, he shot one of the robbers in the back as they ran away, and killed him, and did about 6 years.

Story in the papers lately, a man broke into someones home (not sure where but in this country), home owner beats up the intruder with some form of blunt object - they say it was either a hockey stick or baseball bat. Anyway, police arrive and actually arrest the home owner for hitting the intruder, apparently he was unconcious.

It all went through a trial etc, and it was found that the burgular was infact homeless and he said he was merely looking for food in this guys house (WTF?). Homeowner gets sent to prison for ABH (or whatever it is called now), for 7 months. Burgular gets let off, paid compensation and given a flat by the local council for his troubles.

I mean seriously, what the hell is going on here. 10 years ago this wouldn't have happened, no wonder my parents want to move abroad!

give the burgulars some respect, theyre only trying to take what youve worked everyday of your life for, and maybe in the process hurt you or someone in your family. the worse you are in this country the better you get treated. justice system is a joke lol on a personal note id do more than just wave a knife if someone came in my house

Our house alarm went off a few month back, my dad got up, got the baseball bat from his stash place, went downstairs and charged into the living room with the bat in the air. It was a false alarm though haha, was really odd why it went off by itself, it hasnt done that in the 8 years the alarms been up :S
but yeah if i owned my own house I'd give them 5 seconds to get out, if they dont, sorry but its a bat in the face for you :y:

It was only the other day I was talking about this to someone.
A burgalar actually sued an old man for falling and hurting himself of a plantpot whilst thrying to burgle him!!

Also people getting done for fighting off intruders.

You may aswell just invite them in for a cuppa and help them out the door with your gear!!!

If it were me Id do anything to get someone out, not because of my possesions but because of my small child!!

If that happended in the UK even if the bloke that was shot dead was an escaped rapist and murderer, the woman would be on crimewatch.

Talking about this to the misses dad the other night, he told me that a few years back a burgular had broke into a house tied up all 5 occupents including children, then beat the man of the house, however one of the kids got free and ran to his uncle's house at the end of the street. His uncle and few mates that he gathered then stormed the house and beat the burgular (not to death tho) but then the bugular got away with his crime and the uncle and mates who beat him did time in jail!

Sorry for the essay but this country is on it's arse!!!!

Makes me mad.

We were burgled a few years ago, and had I have come back home and caught the burglar I would have pummelled the bastard.

We were absolutely traumatised, left out of pocket with the insurance claim, having to pay extra for our insurance because we have a claim, and the guy that burgled us is on a (2nd) rehabilitation course, paid for by our tax money, which he will no doubt fail and go back to burglary again to fund his crack habit.
