Right this is starting to get to me.
Recently i have applied for a load of jobs and its starting to piss me off that you cant even get a courtesy email to let you know if your unsuccessful.

I had concussion ( Badly) in september - December 09 along with a whole host of other stuff but i wont go into it... Anyway doctors tell me to rest and take it easy.
Me being me, I thought i'll just get on with things as best as i could and try to forget what happened.
Prior to my injury incident, I applied for a job at a place called Netcomms I.T training, It was like an apprentice thing.

They first called me when i was in hospital to arrange an interview but obviously i couldnt do it ( bigtime concussion and brain trauma) and i though oh well looks like that jobs out the window. Well about 3 weeks later i had another call asking if i was a bit better and would i like to have an interview...Now although i was still sick, I snapped at the chance and said yes. I was well chuffed.

I was given the date and time Etc and (smartly dressed) i made the awkward trip into brum where parking is extortionate and got on with the interview.
It went really well ( considering how i felt ) and i was really pleased with myself, as it was a very proffesional outfit and i seemed to get on with the guy really well. Gave him my CV, the lot...
I was told i will have a call within next month or two, to do the 2nd part of the interview over the phone and then ill be told if i have the job or not.... Well since then, Fuck all.

I belled them today and the woman was like im so sorry you should have been informed the vacancies have been filled now... Im like oh right thanks. was told to expect a call etc and shes like well im sorry about that.
No worries love, im only just sitting here waiting to hear from you, Struggling to pay bills etc, You know ! (thoughts in my head)

I know its a long rant but im getting pissed off with companies not even having the decency to phone and tell you whether you have the job or not.
It took a lot for me to go into B'ham city centre, Concussed... Im usually a bit of a shy person normally, but you can imagine how timid and nervous i was on the day ( still feeling really sh*t) and i'm soo annoyed that i have got fuck all back from it all ( this isnt the first time this has happened to me either)... I know theres people out there with the same thing so .... Discuss cause i think it should be changed its crap ! Rant over !:wall:

Yeah, I know how you feel mate, you're expected to go down at their convenience for an interview that can take over an hour and a half, where you are expected to be dressed smartly, and kiss their arse, often putting you out, and they don't have the courtesy to call or email you, even if it was a mail merge email, just letting you know you were unsuccessful, but no, however, from the companies perspective, if 400 people are applying for 1 position, which does happen regularly, they don't have the time and resources to call everyone and explain why they haven't got the job, it sucks, but it won't change :/.

i know what your saying mate its just that, well, Parking for the day was like 8 pound for the 2 hours cause brindley place is so called the better part of brum.... and also petrol driving there aswell... they just take the piss.... I think they should make some sort of automated message thing to all applicants.
I Wouldnt have wanted an explanation either... Just an unsuccessful message would have been fine. Just to let me know where i stand like....

BT Apprentice Scheme (http://www.btplc.com/Careercentre/CareerStart-Apprentices/index.htm)

Im not sure when they will start recruiting this year, But sign up to receive the updates.
I left School with my GCSE's and went straight into BT Openreach Apprenticeship scheme. Ive now got a BTEC National Award under by belt and many other skill qualification relevant to my job (I wont bother listing them, but there are ALOT).
Would strongly recommend it it anyone.
Hope this helps out mate, I cant honestly say when they will start recruiting up again.
But I've had no regrets

Im sorry to hear that bud, buts it generally the way now. Companies dnt care. We once sent letters out automatically if a interviewee was unsuccessful but now a days we have to write them up and send them out ourselves if we want to do it at all. Its a bit of a shitter tbh. Soz to hear about ur accident and stuff, sounds like u havnt had it easy but im sure the future will get better ;)

No your right it was a bit of a shit ending to the year but i did try and get on with stuff and it just didnt seem to be working for me .... I will keep trying though, I Just thought that knowing what happened to me and seeing that i still made the effort it may show that i am willing and ready to get on with stuff... But obviously they didnt see it that way. Bummer TBH... Just gets on your tits... as i say its not the first time it happened.
