im 18, got 1 years no claims.
earn approx £600 a month
should i do this?
thinking about droping a vts in just before summer and cam etc.. target 150bhp.
or?
save for 1 year + for a mint seat leon cupra r.
obviously for both insurance will be an issue but so unsure atm.!

Good luck mate with y0 project on £600 p/m.
i'd stay with the sexo, or just sell your current sexo and buy a sexo vts, probably hell of a lot cheaper.

1 years no claims won't make a difference if your declaring a VTS engine plus modifications to reach 150bhp. Unless you've already got over a grand saved up just for insurance alone I wouldn't bother tbh.

I found a VTS conversion in my VTR was very difficult to get a half decent insurance quote for. I could insure a VTS for £290 but ended up paying £390 because it was a conversion and that was only after haggling down on the basis that I also own a TVR Chimaera and a Mondeo ST200 so a saxo VTS shouldn't be a problem. Tbh unless you are particulary attached to your car it would probably work out cheaper to buy a VTS than convert yours

I chose VTS yours, but they're not particularly great options IMO...
I'd go for something different, but not for a couple of years if I could.

If you are looking for a change you could with the leon. You could always buy another saxo after.

Leon r's start at around £4-5k,, and there not all that quick either. If you just wanna go fast get a Volvo 850R, mine had 282.2bhp, cost me £1k at 19 to insure and would go past a Leon R ;).

A cupra is a better car all round but you pay much more for one, i was under the impression he just wanted to go fast in a straight line, although 850Rs are reasonably capable on bends all things considered.

I would go with the cupra but on £600 a month are you sure you will be able to buy, insure and run one?

trouble is i have modified my car to excatly how i like it and has costs $$$ so selling for another saxo = no no!
a leon cupra r aint the most quickest thing but - i personally think it looks the tits, got all the mod cons, girls love them ;) and it is quick/ fairly easy to tune.
just want straight up opinions really...
