Wireless router for xbox gaming

Got my 360 finally :) Next thing, is i dont have a router. My internet goes through virgin media. It has its own Modem which plugs into back of virgin digi box, then ethernet cable from modem to my PC. Wondering if theres any specific routers i need for my Xbox360 to connect to. And if so which do i need? Thanks

The modem screws into the back of the virgin digital box, then theres its own power cable for the modem, and an ethernet connection, that goes from the modem to a Ethernet USB adapter connected to my PC. All i really want to know is if i need a cable router or an ADSL router as ive had no experience with wireless routers at all and could do with a little help
